Location :Himachal Pradesh, 42 kms. from Kullu
It is situated on the banks of the river Paravati and makes a good holiday destination. The place is well known for trout fishing. It is charmingly located on an open space, which slopes down to the broad expanse of clear white sand at the Parvati river. The village has a lovely setting among pine trees and river.

According to legend a giant serpent stole Lord Shiva's consort Parvati's earrings while she was bathing. When Lord Shiva threatened him, he snorted the jewels out from under earth, creating holes through which the water now emerges, Kasol, on the Parvati river. Kasol is another tiny village along the Parbati Valley road that has become a hang-out. It’s in a lovely setting among pines, and streams with some trout. The village is actually divided into’Old Kasol’ on the Bhuntar side of the bridge, and ‘New Kasol’ on the Manikaran side.
